Ash Wednesday Service

Ash Wednesday invites us into the spirituality of limits, so that we can be honest about what in our lives does not last and how we can release them to honor new growth. Dust, in the Christian imagination, is not only an ending; it is also what makes growth possible.

In this short, contemplative service, we’ll mark our foreheads with ashes as a way of naming what has run its course and what might be returned to the soil.

We’ll gather with prayer, music, scripture, silence, and the imposition of ashes.
